Tea Tree Oil Has May Powerful Benefits to treat Herpes Outbreaks

Essential Oils have been used for many many years and over the last 10 years have become mainstream. It’s common to walk into a store and they will have an essential oil diffuser going to either clean the air, create a mood or just because it smells good. I know I use essential oils to help my son sleep and to help set the mood for him. Also, lots of products now are infused with essential oils to either make them smell good or are there beneficial properties.

Tea Tree oil or also known as Melaleuca Oil is extremely powerful and people have been using it for centuries. Tea tree oil comes from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a small tree native to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. Tea tree oil has been used as a traditional medicine by Aborigines for centuries. These native Australians crush tea tree leaves to extract the oil, which is then inhaled to treat coughs and colds or applied directly to the skin for healing.

The oil contains many compounds that have been shown to kill bacteria, viruses and fungi. Terpinen-4-ol is one of the compounds that helps fight these icky things as well as increase the productivity of your white blood cells which help fight germs and other hibigeebies. So, in other words this oil has many germ- fighting properties that has made it pretty valuable when treating skin conditions, preventing infection and promoting healing.

When applying the oil it’s important that you use a carrier oil or dilute it with water. It’s a very strong and potent oil and the last thing we want is to unintentionally burn ourselves because the oil was so strong. You can mix it with other oils like coconut oil or olive oil or you can add some water to it.
