All About Alexandra Harbushka

Alexandra & Clinton Costa Rica

I will never forget where I was, what I was wearing and where I was headed when my doctor called me. After I had hung up the phone, I began to shake. I was scared shitless. All of my happiness, desires, and goals immediately vanished. Sound familiar?

One day it dawned on me; I had to tell my story about living with herpes. The thought of sharing this story was equally exciting and terrifying to me because I remember every single detail of the moments leading up to and following my diagnosis.

All of your feelings are normal, natural and they all can be transformed. I made the decision to move forward with my life and learned how to cope, heal and live with the virus. I made a choice to not be a victim to herpes.

Today I support other people who find themselves in the same situation I was in on that day. I have a podcast and YouTube show called Life with Herpes where I interview experts on the subject and answer crucial questions from my listeners. I teach others who are living with Herpes to adapt their lives, relationships, and definitions of wellness around their diagnoses.

To do this, I not only use my own personal experiences with Herpes, but I also use my experiences in corporate America. I was in the real estate and mortgage world for a decade and in 2015 I made the leap to creating an online business.

A little bit more personal stuff about me...

First and foremost I am a wife to my husband Bill and mother to my toddler Clinton. Before becoming a mommy and a wife I worked in Corporate America that ranged from Ralph Lauren, selling new home construction to being a mortgage loan officer. All of these experiences with corporate structure allowed me to take the leap of faith in 2015 and become an entrepreneur.

As I dabbled with entrepreneurship I launched my first podcast, Sex, Money & Food, and began in the online world. In 2017 I took one of the hardest leaps and launched my now business, Life With Herpes (LWH). This was terrifying to tell the world about my herpes diagnosis however I realized that there were millions of people just like me who were living with this huge secret and needed support and guidance. Life With Herpes consists of a podcast, a website, Youtube channel, wellness products to support the skin condition and an online community that provides support.

My education includes a bachelor degree from the University of Arizona (Bear Down to my fellow Wildcats!), a postgraduate certificate in Ministry, and I'm 4 classes away from completing my masters in Theology. I am also an ordained minister and provides ministry counseling.

My favorite food is a burger cooked rare with a fried egg, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato, Heinz 57 and mayo. I love cheers’ing with Bill every night with a glass of Zinfandel.

I have lived all over the world, California, Arizona, Nevada, New York City and Madrid. Even Though San Diego is the best city in world New York City is magical to me.

For the longest time my favorite place to travel to was Los Cabos however after becoming a mommy I now love going to Park City, Utah with my family.

I absolutely love every day, and I am grateful for the life I live.
